He witnessed some of his U.S Navy Seal friends being killed in battle while in Afghanistan and was determined to provide financial aid for the families back home. He went on the Internet and found the 10 hardest events in the world and decided to raise money by competing in Ironman. Putting intense energy into the training the managed to complete the World Championship in Ironman on Hawaii.
